Description
B-1B Painted BOnes #1. The first jet is “Penetrator” from the 96 BW. This plane had the three-color camouflage scheme (FS 36081/36118/34086), and rather large nose art. The second jet is “Memphis Belle” from the 116 BW at Robbins AFB, Georgia. Actually, I’ve lost count of which “Memphis Belle” this was (#5, #6??). The third bird is “Boss Hawg” with razorback hog nose art from the 7 BW at Dyess AFB, Texas. The final jet is “Global Power” from my old unit, the 28 BW at Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota (where the motto is “there’s a woman behind every tree . . . just no trees!). This nose art features the tiger motif of the 37th Bomb Squadron grasping the globe in its claws.
