Description
Fw 190A/D #2. One of the subjects of this set is Fw 190A-5 as flown by the US Navy at NAS Patuxent River, VA, in an overall white scheme with red cowl, fuselage & wing stripes, and a red/white/blue striped rudder. Next is a very interesting A-8, Yellow Bar + 12, in RLM 74/75/76 but with a faded RLM 75 fuselage sporting large patches of RLM 74 covering previous tactical markings. Another A-8, this time from I/JG 300, White 5, is next and sports the large yellow/red RV band of JG 300. Note this ship has frequently been misidentified as one from JG 5 with a yellow/black RV band, based on misinterpretation of a photo taken with orthochromatic film, and the error has been replicated many times over the years. Other photos show this was definitely a 301 bird. The final subject is an Fw 190D-9, White 15, sporting an interesting late-war camouflage scheme that was most likely RLM 81/82/83. Only 26 sets still available.
