Description
Tomcat Sunset F-14s #1. This our first set to honor the official retirement of the F-14 Tomcat from US Navy service and features three VF-31 Tomcatters ‘Cats that made the final traps and launches from the USS Theodore Roosevelt on 28 July 2006. First is AJ/110, named “Sweet Little Miss,” flown by LT Taylor Grant. Next is AJ/112, flown by LT Chris Rattigan, and the final bird is AJ/106, flown by LCDR Dave Faehnle and sporting a large “United States Navy – Tomcats and Targets” insignia on the radome. These are all TPS gray scheme birds that went on to participate in the Tomcat Sunset official US Navy retirement ceremony for the Tomcat at NAS Oceana, Virginia, in mid September 2006.
