Amazing Fw 190s #2. First is a truly amazing FW 190F-8 that actually carried TWO complete and intact sets of tactical markings. The Yellow 11 Bar was painted directly on top of the earlier Red 7 + I . . . WITHOUT the earlier markings being painted out! It had apparently been assigned to 10./JG ? before being assigned to 7./JG ? of an unfortunately unknown geschwader, and featured a yellow nose band and rudder. This plane was photographed somewhere on the Western Front in 1945. The second bird is an Fw 190A-7, White 14, with the dramatic black/white/black RV band and mailed fist holding yellow lightning bolt nose art, Sturmstaffel 1, Salzwedel, April 1944. Note the applique armor and armored windscreen on this ship.
