F/A-18 Hornet’s Revenge #1. In the post 9/11 world, the US Navy struck back at the bad guys with a vengeance. This set features two birds from CVW-17 during the USS George Washington combat cruise July-Dec 2002. The first is the F/A-18C that carried the unit’s traditional Christmas “Grinch” artwork and flown by LT P. S. Laney of VFA-83. The second bird is the VFA-81 “CAG” bird, an F/A-18C with CAPT Dana Potts’ name painted on the rails, (Dana (Smudge) was CAG at the time).
