Description
Beaufighters #2. FINAL 3 SETS! AFTER THIS NO MORE AVAILABLE! This set includes five rather colorful Beaus, including the very famous all-black Beaufighter If R2101, NG•R, flown by John Cunningham and Jimmy Rawnsley to score their 12th night victory on 6 May 1941, featuring their kill markings scoreboard above the fin flash. The next is a IVf of the Dominican Air Force in 1949 and featuring the large extended fin strake as normally seen on the Beaufighter X. The third bird is a Merlin-powered Mk IIf in overall black with red code letters, YD•G, R2404. Next is an Australian Mk.21, LS•K, A8-112, featuring overall RAAF Dark Green (some sources claim Foliage Green) and on the rudder a clever Goofy cartoon character riding a rocket and swinging a lasso above his head. The final subject is again a Cunningham & Rawnsley mount, this time an all-black If NG•R, T4625, the bird they flew for their 13th kill, and sporting 13 kill markings above the fin flash.
