Iraqi Freedom F-14 Tomcat Heroes #1. FINAL 9 SETS AVAILABLE! Two VF-31 Tomcatters combat birds grace this set. First is the red tail (yes, in combat) Tomcatters F-14D Skipper’s Bird with CDR Paul “Butkus” Haas, CO & CDR Aaron “Suds” Cudnohufsky, XO, names on the canopy rail. Of particular interest is the special “mission marking” devised by VF-31: a small cartoon “Felix The Cat” dropping a bomb! Very clever, and much different from what you usually see. This jet displayed 11 bombing missions. The second bird (this one in standard TPS camouflage) carried the name “Ms Heidi” on the nose and LT “Spicoli” Kadar & LTCR “Nasty” Elder’s names on the canopy rails. Along with the 19 unusual VF-31 mission symbols, it also displayed one gun sortie depicted as a “tommy gun!”
