Hawk 75 #2. MULTIPLE SHEET SET! Without doubt, the French Air Force Hawk 75s (P-36 for export) were the brightest and gaudiest ever. Your own eyes give you the proof, because I’ll bet every time you’ve seen a Vichy aircraft model on display or in a contest your eyes have been pulled immediately to it. This set allows you to build two birds from the Battle of France, and two more brightly marked ships from the Vichy air force. First from the Battle of France is a Hawk 75A-3, White 7, GC II/4, 3 Esc., flown by Sergent-chef Antoine Casenobe, 7 Kills in WW II, 1940. Note the devil on a broomstick insignia and “Fan-Fan-La-Tulipe” nose art. The second Battle of France bird is a Hawk 75A-3, White 7, GC II/5, 3 Esc., Lafayette Escadrille, 1940, sporting the diagonal green fuselage stripe and famous Indian chief head insignia. The first Vichy ship is the brightly marked Hawk 75A-3, White 9, GC I/4, 2 Esc., flown by Sgt. Georges Lemare-5 kills, at Cap-Vert, Dakar, 1942. The final subject is one of the relatively few Hawk 75A-4s received by France, this one from GC II/5 in North Africa, 1940, and possibly flown by Lt Georges Ruchoux.
