Description
Zirkus Rosarius Part 1. TheVersuchsverband (the Trials and Research Unit of the Luftwaffe High Command) flew and assessed the capabilities of captured Allied fighters, and toured these aircraft to various Luftwaffe fighter units as the “Wanderzirkus (or Beute-Zirkus) Rosarius.” The aircraft tested by them included P-51s, P-38s, P-47s, Spitfires, Mosquitos and a Typhoon. This set features a Mosquito B.IV coded T9+XB, 2./VVB OKL, based at Kجخه_nigsberg, Neumark, July 1944. Next is the P-47D-2-RA formerly YF*U of the 358 FS/355 FG and now coded T9+FK, 2./VVB OKL, Wunstorf, July 1944. The final ship is the remarkable P-51B formerly from the 334 FS/4 FG and now coded T9+HK, 2./VVB OKL, Neuruppin, late 1944. This unusual scheme consisted of natural metal over RLM 04 yellow rather than the typical topside color of RLM 74.
