Description
PYN-up Decals Beautiful Jugs Part 3. Although both subjects in this set have been offered before by various kit manufacturers and aftermarket decal companies, none have been able to capture the true beauty of these fully rendered (shaded) markings in their printing process. That’s a shame, because these are two (actually three) of the most beautiful pieces of art to ever grace an airplane. The first subject is Henry Kuckeman’s extremely famous P-47D-5-RE, “Miss Behave/Lil Lo,” WR*U, 355 FG/354 FS. Note artist Arthur Decosta’s substantially different artwork on each side of the nose, as well as the thin yellow outline to the “Lil Lo” name. Note, too, the odd shape of the “W” and “R” in the squadron code, as well as the “D” flight letter painted on the rudder trim tab. You can count on having historically precise and accurate decals for each of these markings in your PYN-up set (that’s what we’re famous for!). The PYN-up Decals “Shack Rat” P-47D-28-RA (42-28627, UN*M, 56 FG/63 FS) has been featured in several magazine and internet articles, as well as at least one modelbuilding DVD. This is some of the most elegant artwork of the war.
